This Years Harvest

Not much seems to be going right in 2020 but at least this years harvest turned out well. We picked over 80 tonnes of persimmons over 3-4 weeks from late April to early May.


The harvest time is both rewarding and exhausting. The quality of the crop was phenomenal. We enlisted the help of family and season pickers to pick the bounty of persimmons this year.


The days and weeks are long but we blow off steam at the end of the harvest period with a harvest lunch at the local pub. Due to COVID this year, we had to make do with a smaller dinner on the farm.


And nothing beats winding down at the end of the day with a cheeky glass of red a cheese and persimmon platter.
